ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Rules of Attendance

  • The camps will begin with registration on the first day from 8:30 - 11 a.m. In the E. F. Yerby Conference Center at the corner of Grove Loop and University Avenue. The Shady Ladies and Masked Men Welcome Reception on the Tad Smith Coliseum concourse and orientation in the Coliseum will follow at 1 p.m. The camps will each conclude by 11:30 a.m. on the final day.

  • Advisors and coaches are encouraged to attend the camps with their squads. Advisors must be 18 years of age or older and must not be enrolled in a secondary school. Each advisor will be assigned a room On the same floor as his/her group and with someone from his/her school or another advisor.

  • Campers and/or coaches/advisors having special medical conditions should notify the UM staff upon arrival.

  • Detailed information about the registration location and times will be mailed to your squad upon receipt of the the registration form. Registration forms should be postmarked at least TWO WEEKS prior to the opening of each camp. Make checks payable to the University of Mississippi. Make all registration materials to:

    Deposits are nonrefundable.

  • The meal plan is the standard campus spending card that has a total value of $50.00 for for use at the Ole Miss Union and Paul B. Johnson Commons, dorm vending, and the special picnic dinner the last night of camp.

    Camp meal cards will expire with the breakfast meal on the final day.

  • Students and advisors who are licensed drivers may drive on campus with their groups from their dormitories to the Coliseum or Indoor Practice Facility parking lots. Only students with advisors may travel off campus while at the camp.

  • A limited accident insurance coverage is provided for participants at our camp. The policy is a secondary-excess coverage policy and is applicable if no primary coverage is provided by the parents/guardians of a camper. The insurance is provided for all registered participants at camp.

  • Your address while on campus will be: Your Name, Ole Miss Mid- South Cheerleaders Camps, Non-Credit Education, The University of Mississippi, P. O. Box 879, University, MS 38677. To be reached by telephone on campus, you should be called person-to-person at (662) 915-7211. The University operator will give the long-distance Operator your residence hall telephone number.

  • Squads/teams must be on time to all classes and camp functions.

  • Please leave valuables at home (rings, jewelry, etc.). The University of Mississippi will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • The use of alcohol, drugs, or any other type of stimulant is completely forbidden. If anyone is caught doing any of the above they will be sent home with no refund and the University Police Department will be notified for further action. The parents will also be notified and be required to come and pick up their son/daughter.

  • There is no smoking allowed by anyone at anytime during your stay and that includes adults. Should a cheerleader be found in violation, he or she will sent home with no refund.

  • Residence hall rooms will be inspected on a daily basis and prior to departure. If there are any damages, teams will be responsible for payment before leaving the campus.

  • There will be no hazing or initiations of any type allowed at our camps. Anyone found in violation will be sent home.

  • What to Bring to Camp

    Campers and advisors/coaches should bring sports clothes, swim suit, tennis shoes, towels, sheets, pillow, pillowcase, blanket, and toilet items. Other items that prove useful are a flashlight, rain gear and/or umbrella, tennis racquet/balls, first aid kit with sunscreen, chapstick, and ace bandages or tape per squad, and a cd player to practice your routines.

    Secondary Accident Insurance Coverage

    Room and Board

    Campers and advisors/coaches are housed in residence halls designated specifically for them. Each advisor will be assigned a room on the same floor as his/her group and with someone from his/her school or another advisor. We also provide adult dormitory hostesses and chaperones and 24-hour police security. For more information on the University's residence halls, click here.

    Use of Automobiles

  • Shady Ladies and Masked Men Welcome:
    Before we convene in the grandstand of the Tad Pad, join us for the Shady Ladies and Masked Men Welcome Reception on the concourse. Each squad should wear a pair of "team" sunglasses, designed and created by the squad to represent their team. Camp instructors will have their eyes open during the reception and the team sporting the best shades will win a prize.
  • Ice Scream in the Grove
    Delicious ice cream in our beautiful shaded Grove with a chant- around.
